Topic: New rig *sample recordings not picking up anything* help please.

I picked up a Iriver which has been rockboxed and I have a pair of Mics. So I decided to test it out tonight and on trying it all I got was silence as far as what it was picking up....Now I wasnt sure as far as which input the mics would go in so I tried both and still same issue. Now the volume was up and I know the mics work....so any help would be appreciated as far as what could be the issue.

A couple of quick things...

What model iRiver?  H120/iHP120? or H320, or something else?  What kind of mics?

On the iRiver, under recording settings, do you have source set to "Line input"?  I think "mic" refers to the little built in mic on the side.

H340 and the mics are audiotechnica omnidirectional mics
