Creative Zen V?
« on: January 31, 2007, 11:36:21 PM »
Hey-im looking for an mp3 player that i can can also record shows with and im on a pretty low budget. After looking around for a while im kind of liking the Creative Zen V 4GB.                         It records via Line In at 160 Kbps, is that to low to be decent quality?
Also, does anyone know if it displays levels while its recording? im finding conflicting information
Thanks-

get a jb3.  it'll record lossless wav.  160kbs sucks.

I'll second the jb3. Easy to handle. Lossless recording. Try Ebay. You will find one at a reasonable price.

After you buy a jb3 for recording, go and buy a Zen V or W as an mp3 player....I want the W.

Anybody ever try recording line-in on one of these? I'm still on the hunt for an mp3 player which could - IN A PINCH - record (I have an R09, so this would be emergencies and backup only).

Any thoughts? It looks like a nice little mp3 player even if ::sob:: it could never match the heights of my lamented iRiver ...

Both the iRiver and jb3 are mp3 players that can record, and they're not that expensive. So what's the catch? That you can't buy them new anymore. Or the form factor?

You want something really small? Try iRiver iFP-7/8/999 then, records at 320kbps at least.

But I'd stick to H120 any day...

I had an iRiver which was stolen in a mugging - while I may simply replace the iRiver with a used one, I'm also looking around just to see what's out there as a possible replacement. I didn't use the iriver that much for recording once I got the Edirol, but I liked knowing I COULD, especially since it could run digi-in.   I used to have  JB3 (which I in fact sold to buy an Edirol R-09) and I liked it very much for recording, but it's too big for my purposes as a walk-around player.

Anyway, that's why I'm asking around!
