I do, and love the sound, in fact I really prefer them to omni's for that placement since cards have no rear lobe and thus do not pick up much of the crowd noise behind them; I do not use XY, I instead use them in DIN or ORTF, but you must be careful not to place them too near any percussions or that instrument will dominate your recording and probably ruin it

I run cards on stage if possible :)
don't run hyper-cards on stage though  :P
If posible run sub-cards on stage  >:D

always ORTF (to the dome!)
Seriously, the band makes the music. Tapers just point mics in the right direction and hit "record".

That's good to hear!  The last patcher I had complained about my AKGs, fluffed schoeps for about 15 minutes, stayed patched in, and farted on me all night long.

Um, in my room, one seam is a little off and I stare at it constantly. It's, like, destroying me.

Cards will work just fine on stage.  Results will vary, as always, depending on where/how you set up.  I generally like cards XY, as I find DIN / ORTF and other arrangements exaggerate the width of the soundstage.  But it's been a while since I've used near-coincident configurations on stage.  You might consider checking out the Stereophonic Zoom link stickied to the top of the forum as a starting point for what spacing / angle to use.

90 degree XY on stage. Check this recording out to see what you think of this configuration.

all kinds of setups used to record these shows...  instrumental progressive jazz with some standards and always onstage (no vocals).. streaming the material prolly wont help you in terms of difference from setup to setup tho, but if you download a few tracks and listen to them on a decent system, you can hear the differences the varying setups provide..
We have a system that increasingly taxes work and subsidizes nonwork.  ~Milton Friedman
