Topic: Interesting recording environments

Hi all,

I'm a student currently studying Sound Art - I have a project in which i want to use environmental recordings and/or the reverb of interesting acoustic spaces for use with 7 loudspeakers. Struggling a little bit with ideas for where/what to record, and was wondering if anybody had any ideas? Preferably a space in London. Many thanks, any help much appreciated

David Hykes did a recording in a giant underground cistern. It had a reveberant decay cycle of something like 45 seconds.
David Hykes is a harmonic vocalist the likes of a Tuvan/Monglolian/Buddhist monks. He sang with his Harmonic Choir (3 or 4 other harmonic vocalists), and they fed off the long reverb cycle, and it grew into quite a monster.
At any rate, they did multiple tracks with mics at distance within the cistern. Amazing barely describes it.

Fort Worden sounds like a great place for interactive surround sound sessions, maybe as interesting as the Taj in India.  Sending this link to world traveler and academic Steven Feld having one of my HRTF natural surround sound recording systems. 

Maybe sometime you can link up with him for a multiple mic system recording session?
