I already have a pair of superlux cm-h8k mics with omni caps and have had great recordings over the past couple of years with them. However I have always wanted a pair of shotguns, do these look good. Since I am likely going to upgrade to an R44 i would like to try these shotguns vs. my omnis.

Also what would the difference between short and long mean soundwise?

personally I don't like the sound of most shotguns
but I have heard some awesome recording made with them
I would stay away from almost any mice that didn't go up to 20k
30-20k would be one thing but 30-16k
I'd say no
cheap price  may not be a great investment you might want to check out some RODE mics
the NTG2  or NTG1

at Full Compass  if you call a rep you can usually get a better price then posted on the web, my rep Ron V has been there for about 20 years and my rep for over 13 years.
