Phantom power question
« on: October 27, 2010, 06:50:20 PM »
I just got a phantom power unit for my shotgun mics (Beyerdynamic MCE 86 II). The mic specs say it takes 11 - 52 volts of power. The switch on the phantom power unit switches between 12 and 48. Which position would give the best results? Thanks!

Sorry, should have posted this in the mics section.

if the specs say 11-52 volts, then the mic will produce equal results as long as the power source is within that range.

you'll probably get longer battery life if you run your phantom power unit at 12 volts instead of 48v.
