There should be a thread or two by Church-Audio in the Retail Forum.

They are great mics for the money. For best results you should also get a battery box to provide proper plug in power although some users have said they got excellent results just going mic in to an R-09HR. Chris Church does not recommend it though.

Normal prices are $139 for either the card or omni CA-14s, but for $199 you get both plus one of Chris' tiny battery boxes. Postage is $24.

This month he is having a 25% off sale, so you could get both mics and the BB shipped for $173.25.

Just the cards would be $128.25 so it is worth the extra $45 for the package. You should have the battery box anyway ($29 separately) and if you have no use for omnis, wait a while after the sale is over and sell them in the yard sale. You should be able to at least $100 for them if not more, though it could take a while to find a buyer.

To buy, e-mail Chris at
SALES@CHURCH-AUDIO.CA

Tell him what you want and have him confirm or correct these prices. Be prepared to wait up to 3 months for shipment, but ordering from Chris has always been well worth the wait for me. The waiting time is the reason for

Chris' wait times are 3 months now? Dayum, must be a busy guy!

Irrelevant, I just found that an extremely interesting figure.

I haven't ordered in the last year or so but that was my experience in the past. He has said he is shipping faster now, but you'd have to get a figure from him.

He makes fantastic products at a great price, so the wait was always worth it to me.

It's more costly, but the CA9300 pre-amp makes a more flexible alternative to the battery box.

The CA9200 pre-amp is a great product. If imageman records nothing but loud rock, he should save the money and just get a battery box. If he sometimes records acoustic, the pre would be a great choice if he doesn't mind the additional cost.

Chris' delivery times are "overstated" now so that he won't receive flack for not shipping stuff out fast enough.   Odds are it might be slightly faster than what he says but it shouldn't be any longer than what he states which will mean fewer p*ssed off customers.

CA-9300?  Never heard of it... I've heard of the following preamps: 9100 and 9200 ... and a CA-Ugly and CA-Ugly II.

Hi Folks
question for those who own the ca 14 mics that stealth most of the time. are you getting  them with the permanent clips or without and buying the removeable rotating clips. the reason why i ask do you find the permanent clips limit what you can do and/or get in the way if you are not using them because of where you are placing your mics. any feedback would be awesome. i am just not sure if the permanent clips limit me.

I recently ordered mics + extra caps + BB from him. He said he'd send them in 4-5 weeks and that's exactly what he did.
