Marantz Pro PMD-706 MK 2
« on: April 17, 2019, 10:30:27 PM »
The Marantz Pro PMD-706 MK 2 got announced, not really sure why it is worth buying over the mk1? Let alone the excellent Zoom F4, which when on sale sells for almost the same as the Marantz Pro PMD-706 MK1.

However, it is good to see Marantz still supporting and developing their field recorders! (but where is Tascam and Roland? They're AWOL!)

Looks exactly like the original version. No mention of any new features in that video either. Not a real good sales pitch if you ask me.

Marantz took a year to release a firmware update to fix a couple of glaring oversights in the 706 - file saving and card corruption when power loss occured. I hope they at least continue to support the older version instead of expecting everyone to buy the new one which doesn't seem to be much of an upgrade.
