I've had this for years and while there is no listed weight rating, it's extremely strong. You just need to use the appropriate adapters for 3/8" hardware. Anytime I need an angled position, this is usually what I reach for.

It seems that this link no longer resolves. Anyone have a link to the product on Amazon?

Think this is the current page at On-Stage for the Posi-Lok clutch, which now goes by MSA-9501.  The spec sheet still uses the 13016 model number.

https://on-stage.com/posi-lok-clutch

Amazon:  https://www.amazon.com/On-Stage-MSA9501-Posi-Lok-Clutch/dp/B0002E54YQ

If you see it around somewhere, AEA sells it rebranded for the same price.

thanks to Voltronic for the tip, I am a Savior Clamp convert.  No going back.

Here's my Savior clamp at Tedeschi Trucks / Wang Theatre Boston, clamped to the chair leg (11th row) with a Manfrotto articulating arm and a Matthews baby extension.  Gets me to something higher than head-height, which is higher than they usually allow anyway.

It's true. It's much more useful than the Manfrotto Super clamp I replaced. I haven't run into a situation yet that it didn't work.

I need to get one of these setups for the times where I can’t use a light stand/tripod due to space limitations of the room I’m in. For this, I’d usually need to clamp to a table or something similar in and around the board area.

What clamp version would I need to run with the Matthews Baby Extension Pole?  And which adapters do I need between all this and a Rycote Lyre?

Thanks all!

This might sound a bit stupid, but does anyone here ever stealth clamp? Any advice/suggestions?

I'm looking at maybe running my AT831s on a little T Bar (probably quickly design and 3d print something). Also would use a safety cable if I did clamp. I'll have access to a balcony railing in a low security venue, so rather than my usual body mount stealth I'm thinking of mixing it up.

I do this sometimes. I use the Camvate mini crab clamp and ball head, a small shockmount, a SRS 3d printed XY mount and CA11 cardioids. I clamp somewhere and run the cables to the battery box and A10 which live in a small bag that I hang the closure string around the clamp then monitor with the app.

Only at very low/no security checks where I can carry the stuff in my bag. My GF made me a sling bag that has lots of different pockets.

The mini crab clamp won't go around most balcony rails (it only securely attached to things an inch or so in diameter) but there's always somewhere to get it attached.

If the shockmounts and XY mic holder feel like they are too bulky I just put a few pieces of gaffers tape around a lighter and use that to stick the mics to something.

I have "stealth clamped". I've used a windtech C clamp and/or my Manfrotto double articulated arm. Once, at Tipitina's,. where the band was generally taper friendly, but was recording an album, I clamped the arm to their cage in the balcony DFC, hung the recorder bag from the cage with a ball bungee. Was using akg actives- SD Mic pre _ Sony M10

Another time I clamped the arm to the top of the FOH fence at the second stage at the fairgrounds in NOLA, ran the MN10 internal on battery and it ran all day long! the bitch was separating the files as they split every 2GB.

Take a look at your surroundings and go for it if the opportunity arises. (I checked out the FOH fence the day prior and realized no one ever walked to the back corner as it was behind their porta potty)

I stealth clamped a week ago.  I went right up to the rail, clamped to that pointed inches at the stack.  Security couldn't see around the stacks, and neither could the band (they didn't care anyway).  But if you were in the crowd, it was comically obvious.

I'm double clamping tonight though!  Figured, besides my mics, why not add in the internal recorder mics for a central channel matrix?  Why not?  More chance to clamp!

Clamp on folks!

Depending on the situation, a great low-profile clamping setup is the Manfrotto Nano Clamp with the Micro Variable friction arm (https://www.manfrotto.com/nl-en/photo-variable-friction-arm-with-anti-rotation-attachment-244microkit/).

Sometimes, with the 4060s, I have been known to just gaffer tape them to a suitable structure...
