Lately - my video's seem to be blurry, anyone experience this before ? Set to the highest 4K Output, and lens cleaned...hasn't been an issue on these settings until recently.

Set 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLuv-KcpWJY&t

Set 2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBvEdEbk-rs

wondering if i need to update my 128 MB SD Cards, or might be something else within the camera I should update....

Seems like it's on Manual Focus but you didn't focus on anything.

Damn, 128 MB? Those are classic. You might want to update to something with G after the number.

Just got mine, works perfect, just have to grind out a little space for cable, thanks for the info

Ed - did you cut a little slot into the camera body into which you can insert the wire and close the battery compartment?  Seems like a good idea since it doesn't take much pressure on the internal latch (for the battery itself) to unhinge.

If this is what you did, please post a pic.  Thx.

Yep and Nick C modded the cable to run on external
9 volt power instead of dual usb
https://imgur.com/a/5U3BfOJ

So, that cable that was linked in order to run it off external power is no longer available. I ran a single USB connection with that DC coupler the last two nights and I assume the voltage was not consistent. After 3-5 minutes the recording crapped out. Sucked because it was my static wide shot. I tried running it at home and with it just powered on and recording (with nothing really moving in the picture) it went for 4.5 hours. But I assume the camera with all its sensors when recording outside in light and moving bodies the camera couldn't handle it and just shut down with the inconsistent voltage.

Anyone know of alternatives to power this thing for long periods? I dislike having to swap the batteries after 90 minutes (at best).

You can find dummy batteries that will run off USB A or C on aliexpress or amazon. DMW-DCC11 is the part number most of them use.

Late to the game, new DC-ZS200 owner. Coming from Sony DSC-HX20V, HX30V, HX50V & HX80V - which all have been great. Added the ZS200 to the collection for the 1" sensor, 15x Zoom & 4K.

My ZS200 was previously owned with firmware version1.0. I was able to access the service mode and the "recording limit hack" was successful from this version.
While the mode was still active, I have installed the latest firmware V1.2 and the camera continued to stay in the "hacked " mode after the update.

Firmware revisions show:
Date/Version: Nov. 19, 2019  Ver.1.2 [Exposure Comp. Disp. Setting] has been added to the [Custom] menu.
Date/Version: Dec. 20, 2018  Ver.1.1 [Fixed bug in contrast adjustment of monitor.]

My batteries for the ZS100 are giving me only 55 minutes to an hour of record time. Looked at replacement batteries. Some are 1025, 1200 and 1500 mAh. Reading the reviews some said there no difference in run time with the different MAh specs. Seemed like many had good run times at first with the batteries about 1.5+ hours. Then after months it goes down to 50 - 55 minutes. Is this the experience you guys have with your batteries for this camera?

Which batteries do you guys buy and would you have a link?

Thank in advance.

I do the same and am able to tape full shows without a battery change this way.

This is the first that I've heard there is a successful hack for the ZS200.  Is this a new development?

I followed the instructions from this earlier post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxmVDdU1xf0 .. I have not compared the instructions in the YT source against your write up - to see if they procedure varied.
I do know it was successful with my camera and still engaged after a firmware update to V1.2.

I've ordered these a few times and usually get about 1 hour 20 minutes out of each, before a recharge is needed. This is on a set focus in 4K , not auto changing during the performance. $20 for a pair.

Thanks Papachunk.

Reread this thread and saw guitard post about OEM battery life vs Wasabi Power batteries.

Bought the Wasabi Batteries. THough the ones Papachunk posted look good too.

======================================================

Saw the links for the dummy battery though see you have to cut the door of the battery area for the cord to fit. Not sure how I would do that or if I want to do that.

Is there a way to use the dummy battery without cutting the battery door?
How did people cut the battery door so the cable would fit?

Or any other ideas about this..

There a hole in The battery door, no cutting required.
