I bought a VFX1 in 2020 before the covid. Eariler I had TM800.

My main reason buying VFX1 was the line in input. TM800 got only mic input where I could feed the sound of my mics at low level, but sometimes the sound was distort.

Unfortunatelly I have bad experince with VFX1 line in too.

I was feeding the line in jack with a Sony M10. The line in level was in -12 or -9 decibel level. I could not find out why but many times on drum kicks the camera sound got distorsion.
I could not replicate the problem when played back the same recording from the Sony M10. This issue always happens when Sony M10 is recording and sending out the sound via line out (fixed). When I used the line out of the Sony with variable
level it was even worse.

Somehow I figured out that if I plug in a jack connector into the headphone plug of the VFX1 this distorsion is not happening. So I got a small plug what I always connect to the headphone jack of VFX1.

I think this is some kind of bug of the chips in the VFX1. I wondered if I could tell this issue to Panasonic technical help desk, but I assumed this will think I am crazy.... :D

I have shot over 625 live concerts, mostly with artists request and/or consent.  I started with Sony DV, then Canon 720p, then  Canon 5DMK2 1080p, then Canon 5DMK3 with Magic Lantern, then Canon R5 and now Canon R5 Mkii.   I am so blown away shooting 8K raw on my Canon R5MKii and I get amazing quality in dark settings,  I also use a Sound Device for audio recording in 32 bit 192 sampling.  I no longer worry if my gain is high or low..  The auto focus on the eyes of performer is spectacular...  Never go out of focus...

What's the file size of a 1 hour 8K video?
