The Tascam is a 4-track recorder, so the SD card has twice as much data to process.

I bought 4 of those. Price was right. I'll let you know if they work well.

great

Cards work good. But for some reason I cannot get the data transferred from them using my card reader.
The data can be transferred using the recorder > usb cable that came with my r-05 recorder.
This takes longer than a card reader but at least it works.

I always do that since the weak link in the funky plastic piece that covers and seats car.  I put card in.  Copy files as needed and replace when full.

Longer is relative.  Some of us old tapers remember duplicating cassettes or pcms which took as long as the recording.

My post show ritual is first thing, set files to copy, then do anything else (bathroom, food, repack gear for next show) and its done.  I have 2 DR-2Ds that are for parts other than the door and 2 where I have used tape to close the door.   I have only had a line in jack and the spinning wheel break on any of them besides that over the 15 years of use.

Yes, true.
Same with video.
I remember transferring mini dv tape via firewire to pc in real time. And then still having to edit, synch audio and render. All on a slow computer. Time is relative.

Same experience with the R-05 recorders I have. Never failed me in the 15 years I use them now.

The SD card slot door cover is completely missing on one of the DR-2d's I use for board patches.  That one stays in a small shaving kit bag.  Would rather it be intact of course to better keep dirt out but the recorder works fine without it. Card is retained via the spring-loaded push-locking mechanism inside the SD slot and not by the door itself.

The spring loader is what did my two in.  If goes after awhile.
