Doubtful that you'll get approval at the moment. This is NAB, I'm sure Jon and company are there.

I haven't had issues with formatting CF on any of the firmware builds. I always formatted a card before doing the firmware upgrade. I guess I haven't tested it in 1.32 yet, since there isn't a 'next' firmware at this point. Agreed on going to 1.32, though.

they probably have gone through with that many updates but have just released the ones they know of as the most stable and updated.

just a guess though.  the random number thing is very strange.

What nic said.  I've worked lots of places where we did this with our embedded firmware.   Sequential major release numbers like "Peggy 6.0" are helpful for marketing SW to the general public but not really very useful for stuff like this.

Actually this sort of does avoid confusion in QA.  The other numbers were most likely release candidates that didn't pass testing.  So in their development environment there is no confusion on which versions should be in the wild.

Release numbering is really an in-house type of thing. Version control is critical to any software development process. I guess they just chose to make those version numbers public as well.

by then i would have made 500 24-bit recordings w/ the new m-audio device

seriously, i wish this thing was the icing on the cake, but damn if it isnt overrated/overpriced IMO

its been like 3 years since they 'said'it would be released shortly, now they cant even get the firmware down

firmwares have been updated constantly.  It's going to happen sooner than you think.  this latest firmware update might be the fix we are looking for.
