I had really good luck running mid/side from a distance -- post-show you can dial in the amount of side (ambiance) you want to have accentuate the direct pickup sound of the forward facing card.

So how would you recommend to run the lsd2 from longer distances, even though normally i will use my akgs I may end up getting rid of them for just this.

only if you like x/y - which I do.  on my playback system, it gives the best holographic 3D image.

From farther back, I'd open up the angle.

I'll probably run at 110* at vibes this weekend.
