Isn't SACD pretty much a dead format?  Unless you have a SACD player that doesn't play DVD-A, I have no hangups with DVD-A. 

I've read a bunch on both, in what I've read I couldn't pick up on what the advantages of SACD would be.  I might have became lost in all the technical mumbo-jumbo, is there any advantage SACD has over DVD-A?

I'd be more excited by this offer, if in waiting for it, I hadn't already transfered everything over to pcm via an analog step.

Ditto that, but one thing I still need is DVD-A software, so it'd still be nice.

What I need is software to convert/decimate the TASCAM's native Direct Stream Digital DSDIFF files to PCM at my choice of sample rate & bit depth. I don't think the app you linked to does this...or does it?

discWelder Bronze 1000 is supposed to be free to DV-RA1000 owners...so I don't feel like dropping 30 c-notes for discWelder Chrome.

Yeah, Moke, I noticed that when I launched Firefox today (...the dWB1k page is one of my homepages...can you tell I'm anxious?).

Also, tascamcontractor.com looks like it is in the midst of update.

Let's hope...I look forward to not having to run all these performances via analog into my Masterlink just to edit & burn a CD.

Instead of watching that space until my eyeballs dry out I've just been recording in PCM, saves the disc swaps and lack of software support for now.  If you hear anything post it here, I've tried calling Tascam on it but got tired of waiting on hold or being bounced from person to person without any clue each time.

I think the whole tascam site was down for updates, just a guess though, I know nothing about that type of thing.

at what point is this false advertising?
they sell the unit with this as an added bonus feature, yet don't make it available.

I waited on hold last week for an hour to hear, "We have no idea, call Minnetonka Software..."  I haven't had the time out of work to call them yet.

Even though it sounds great, I've abandoned the DSD for the most part and have been recording in 24/48 or 24/96, I really like the D/A in this unit.  I've still recorded a few things recently in DSD, but only if I was running another recorder as backup.

Any of you used Discwelder Chrome 2? It supports DSD conversion. I have a "demo" version you can try if interested.
