Only a quick listen, but I'd say:
1 = 482 - crisper HF, LF not as meaty, better transient detail (sounds "faster")
2 = 414 - attenuated HF relative to 1, meatier LF, less transient detail (sounds "slower")
In this case, I prefer 1. Sounds to me like the venue was too big and the section too far back for the LD omnis to really shine. Unless, of course, I'm wrong on my guess, in which case - great location for the LD omnis!
the section wasnt *that* far back. we were raised above and directly behind the sbd. mud island is not very big. i ran u89(subs)>v3 and it is not
distant like you'd figure LD's to be too far back. i agree w/ your conclusions, you just say it better.
