I am back...

First of all I can only speak for SF 8.0 since that is what I am working with...

To get to M/S do the following...

Top tab - Process

Down to Pan/Expand

Process mode drop down to M/S

Then set the mix as you like it and sample the result..

Hope this helps...  not sure if any other SF products have this feature.

BTW - this only works with a proper 2 ch Recording where one is Mid and the other is the Figure 8.....

Found it in SF 6

I've used it... albeit sparingly. It seemed to work well but it was my first attempt at mastering a M/S recording and the result almost seemed *too* easy. I was actually skeptical as to whether I was doing it right because of how easy it was.

so all you do load the wav file (with the mid in one channel (left) and the fig 8 in the other (right), and then load the plugin, and then select decode... you leave the other knobs alone, right..?

it sounds and images correctly to me, at least it seems that way...

i did that just now Mac and it sounds pretty good, haven't played with widening/narowing yet but sounds much better than the default soundforge one

any advantages to recording mid and side to a stereo track?

I typically create two separate mono tracks when recording...one for mid and one for side.
