Tekkeon MyPower MP3300/MP3400

hi guys....I'm considering these ones to power my JB3 for an upcoming festival in june...has anyone already tried one of them? I think they should be the new version of the power runner by tekkeon

please report your experiences here  I would also consider buying a power runner 2300 but it seems it's not available anywhere in europe (I'm located in europe so I prefer to buy here)

I have used one with pocket pc's. They will power a pocket pc with the screen on and recording for at least 12 hours. 40% remained when I checked it afterwards.

They are kind of expensive, but they have top-notch support and they have replaced both my cable and battery on warranty. They come with a nice leather case also.

They are quite safe to use because anytime you disconnect you have to reset the voltage. This avoids the situation of using too great a voltage on a device of lesser voltage. The leds tell you how much charge remains and the current voltage selection.

I consider it a good value, all things considered.

I bought and currently use the older Tekkeon MyPowerAll.  I agree with Gordon in that Tekkeon has fantastic customer service.  Mine was used and had a sketchy cable.  I emailed them and they just sent me out a new cable free of charge, no questions asked.  Mine will power my PDA rig for a full night of music with plenty of juice to spare.  IT really depends on the voltage that you pull out of it but they last for quite a while.

I use an MP330 to run my Presonus Firebox as a standalone preamp (ie, no computer).  Works fine, after a three hour show it still reads half full.

just got mine in the mail today,,,im having a difficult time figuring out the center +/-  deal with the adapter pins...they only go onto the cable one way, and the '+' sign  is 90degrees off of the '+'  sign on the cable....any advice?

other than that, it looks like a very cool battery for about $55 delivered.

Not my experience at all. I got the adapter pin set from Tekkeon. You can position them in either the + or - polarity relative to the battery. However, they are clearly marked and for most devices where the center pin is +, you will need to connect the connect + to + and - to - .

tekkeon phone guy said that ALOT of people were putting the adapters on wrong and frying their devices, so they now make the adapter pins ONLY center positive...

It doesn't hurt to have a multimeter and know how to use it.  :-)

They are handy for lots of stuff. Checking cables, voltage levels.

The connector that was 90 degrees off ---now that's just "wrong". Was that a third-party item? All the connectors I got from Tekkeon with the battery were fine.

yep..i need a multimeter for sure...the supplied connectors were the tekkeon ones...once i figured out that they were all center positive i was good to go...

fyi..i got around 9 hours running the 210's>mini me (+48v on) using the battery..i let it get down to under 10% b/f i shut the gear off...not too bad, IMO

I would say that's pretty good for running a preamp and mics for that long.

I'm sure that you will quite happy with that battery.   :-)

This I spartially true. 
Tekkeon designes the 3300/3400 to be Center (+) Positive.  This is because most of tehir units are being sold here in the states, in which devices are generally all wired center positive.  Over seas they are wired Center Negative (-).

However teh 3300/3400 units can be set for Center Negative (-).  To do this you just rotate the adapter plug (180 degrees) and push down hard, as the plug may take some extra force to put in place as it is designed for center positive as was stated.

I did this, as I use the 3400 battery with my Edirol R4 recorder, which is Center Negative (-).  Works great without any issues.  I can run my R4 all night long (over 8-10 hours if needed) with phantom power on.

But the main point of my post is to inform those ehre that teh Tekkeon batteries can be setup for Center Negative if needed.
