Well if you have mics, pre-a/d and a recorder then you still need cables to hook it all up, some sort of battery system, mic bar and a stand.

This will sound like a cop-out answer but check out the Archive section here:  http://taperssection.com/index.php/board,14.0.html

You can find all the answers you're looking for at your own pace.  Things are laid out real easy in the archive.  Also take a look at the rig pictures section and see what rigs look like when setup it will make your learning curve go way up once you can see for yourself what things look like.

You can pick up a nice start set of XLR mic cables on YardSale.  The Canare StarQuads are a great beginnner cable:  (these are sold already)  http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,83001.0.html

The Toslink to 1/8"TRS Toslink adapter can be had at Radio Shack or ordered online.  They show up sporadically on YS:
(Monster is a rip-off, you can find similar for cheaper)  http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Cable-ILS100TM-1M-Digital-Audio-Interconnect/dp/B00003CWA9

Get a mini-maglite.

The adjustable K&M Stereo Bar is waht most people use:
http://www.proaudiosolutions.com/ProductDetails.asp?Click=13036&ProductCode=KM235-1

Most people use "light stands" as opposed to "microphone stands" as they are heavier and most stable:
(I bought a generic from EBAY like this one)  http://tinyurl.com/33ot3e

You'll need a camera>microphone thread adapter as well to get your light stand to work with the Stereo Bar:
(3/8" > 5/8" adapter, more than likely.  Verify the threading on the light stand):  http://www.micsupply.com/standaccessories.htm

Beginner is perhaps too insulting...  Please apologize to your cables for me!

Oooo...I'm looking forward to hearing that combo.  I -love- the T+ UA5 and am curious to hear more of the CK-1s...I like what I've heard so far.  I'm itching to try the CK-40 when it comes out.  I think everyone else has mostly covered the additional stuff you'll need, so...  <bows out>

running this 2 avt ck-1's > ua-5 > irivier h120, will i need a battery box? ....act ck-1s require 48v p/p and the ua-5 will cover the mic power, right?
