(moved this here, so the first post isnt filled with my spew)
great program. fwiw, here is the workflow i use...
open the files i recorded as consecutive quick edits in a new document. for a matrix (assuming both sources are sync'd to the same clock), open as overlapping layers...
trim wav files (getting rid of pre-show chatter, etc): move the smartedits (and their boundaries) around.
add fades: select area for fade > layers > add fade (repeat as needed). fwiw, i se the quadratic linear ones.
flatten all.
layers > add effect > eq (bass roll-off) > flatten all (flatten here to have the eq take effect prior to computing the next step..)
processor > normalize (-.2db)
SAVE TO... wave editor file (*.wedt). this file is used for both the 16/44 and 24/96 file sets, and can/should be deleted when the file sets are completely made. saving this file simply gives a place to start for both filesets, where all the work common to the two is complete.
---> 24/96 (my currently preferred settings included)
open *.wedt file
processor >dither (izotope mbit+: 24bit, shape: ultra, amount: high, no boxes checked)
Save to... Wav file, 24 bit
---> 16/44.1 (my currently preferred settings included)
open *.wedt file
processor > convert sample rate (izotope resampler: ultra-steep, linear phase, resample box checked)
processor >dither (izotope mbit+: 16bit, shape: ultra, amount: high, no boxes checked)
Save to... Wav file, 16bit
tracking: at some point during all this, i will have set track markers for each song; setting keystrokes for play/stop (space) and set markers (cmd+m) makes this step very easy (thx scb). export the labels to a *.welabels file to save the tracking, and to use for each fileset (16 bit, 24 bit, etc.) you make.
Open either the 16 or 24 bit dithered wav file.
load *.welabels file.
select all markers in the labels drawer >ctrl-click >save selection to... > 16bit/24bit wav ("wave") files
