Title: SBD>MT?

so i just got a MT and did my first board patch with it the other night and got insanely hot levels!  ??? ive patched from this board many of times with my jb3 and have not had this problem! and body else have this problem with the MT?

I had the same problem with my mt.  You pretty much have to attenuate the sbd signal for the mt, to answer your question.
The answer for me was the shure attenuators.  I don't take sbd patches anymore and only used them twice.  They were pretty pricey, if you are interested I will make you a sweet deal on them. 

pm me if you are interested in the shure attenuators.  Bassically buy one and get the other free kind of deal.  Mint condition, used twice.

If you've got basic soldering skills you could put a variable attenuator together for pennies. There are plans on TS.com somewhere. Not that I can ever find them when I want them...

i dont have the skilz but my dad does! i will look into this as well!

This may sound crazy, but I have asked the soundboard operator to lower their levels to my deck when I have patched in the past.  They usually are concerned about getting the levels correct for the main act for the first couple minutes, but are more than happy to reduce the output to my deck after that.  You may want to try speaking to the sound man before the show and get everything set up in advance.

hahaha yeah i did that! but after lowering the output drastically it was still almost clipping! oh well it is an easy fix... wondering if the 1/4 inputs on the microtrack will be less hot?

first 2 sets were brickwalled bad and the last set was okay but sound girl turned the levels down big time

I had this problem too in the past..
After the first song (which was of course brickwalling), I putted my ST9100 pre in between, and the problem was gone..  :o :P
