Title: Audix m1280 / 1290 Wind Screen
Post by: mterry on June 03, 2009, 10:12:04 AM
In case anyone has been looking for a GOOD windscreen to fit these puppies, look no further. Its the Audix WS1281, only available from Audix. I looked all over google for any dealers, but going straight to Audix is the best bet.

Can you measure the inside diameter and depth of the bore on these screens?   Considering them for the DPA 4098H if they will fit.  Thanks.

I actually bought Mark's M1280s and am the current owner of those windscreens. The diameter is about 1/4" (with some room for expansion due to the stretchable nature of the foam) and the depth is about 1 3/4". Hope that helps!

Excellent, thanks!

Now I can double check.. might be a bit loose and short on the DPAs

I've actually got 3 sets of windscreens that fit the Audix M series. The ones pictured above and a smaller set that are about 1/2 the exterior size of the ones I measured for Gutbucket came with the M1280s I got from mterry. I also bought a set of M1290s from the YS that came with the original wood boxes and included a tiny set of windscreens that are much thinner and about 1/2 the size of the smaller set from the M1280s. I don't think I've ever used the smallest set, but the 2 larger sets have worked quite well for me both indoors and outdoors.
