Title: MT stopped during recording
Post by: e.heman on March 21, 2006, 06:10:07 AM
Last sunday i started recording. after five minutes the recording stopped. The day before i recorded the card full (2Gig Lexar 80x ) I deleted this file after copying. I tried again and again. Then i remembered one of the tips to format the cf-card every time before recording. So i did. Everything worked fine without problems.

Can you provide additional details?  What firmware are you using?  Were you recording analog in or digital in?  24 bit or 16 bit?  Sample rate?

Glad things worked after reformating the card.  I pretty much reformat the card before I record all the time.  Superstition maybe.

I had the same problem, the first time I used my S/PDIF input (Initial use was through 1/8, and them 1/4 TRS). I reformatted too, and the problem went away. Now (on advice from rodeen above) I always reformat before a show, and that seems to work just fine. (I have been using a seagate 5gb microdrive.)

so very simple indeed. But the recordings are fine. The only tip i want to give: Always format your card before starting a new recording

Did you reformat the card within the MT itself (using the Format option in Settings) or did you do it through Windows (with the MT connected through USB.... or with the CF card itself ejected and inserted into a card-reader) ?
