MK4V's>V3>ACM HD-P2 or MK4V's>ACM HD-P2??
« on: April 24, 2009, 01:53:35 PM »
Hey there,
Trying to decide if I really want to bring the V3 in for the dead in Denver.  Is it really worth all the extra space?  Likewise, if I do bring it in should I run the HPF at all.  I know that the schoeps can get a little bass heavy.  Thoughts?  Experiences?  Thanks!

I would bring the V3, and not run any HPF.  If needed, you can always run a HPF in post.  And I would bring the V3 because it's an awesome piece of gear.  As good as the ACM HD-P2 sounds, the V3 is better :)

Never ran an M/S mod V3.  Standard V3 rocks!  Go with the V3.

It's the same as the stock V3, just has a switch on the front to switch to M/S mode.  Otherwise, you got to crack the V3 open and change out some jumpers...I'm lazy.  Thanks!

hey barrett!! are you borrowing the 4v's or did you make a new purchase?? definately bring in the V3 and don't bother with the HPF. If the bass is too heavy, that just means you need to upgrade your playback system!! ;D besides the 41v, the 4v is my favorite schoeps cap!! are you planning on running up front, or in the section??

Not mine...But hopefully in the near future! >:D  Now, more than ever I want to join team schoeps!!!!! They are a buddies here in town, he used to tape....same old story not a taper anymore.  They have been sitting in a storage unit for at least 7 years.  I finally convinced him to let me play around with them.  I will be in the section, hopefully!  No taper tixs, just looking to clamp.  I will have them for the summer so I'm way pumped!
