noise floors are so irrelevant to me.  its a useless number for my applications as a concert taper..where "noise floor" is the heart of where you are.  not to mention "sticky floor", "beer floor"..etc.

Plus that test makes the Zoom H2 sound as good or better than any of the others. The test is totally worthless for helping someone choose a recorder for concert taping.

Take a look at the Marantz 620. Sounds good line in, takes a hot signal from a pre (mine has never cracked up), white on black screen with excellent meters, a programable level LED and a good A/D chip. 4 hours with screen on full with 2 AAs. I like mine a lot. I always hated Edirol's meters on all their products.

At the present time I think the Sony M10 may be a better choice than the 620. The 620 is a great machine also, but the M10 has incredible battery life, very quiet preamp, better sounding internal mics (if that matters to you), and substantially cheaper to boot.
