Quite right.  If you ever challenged them with "They only lasted 200 charges" the stock reply would be "What charger and maintenance regime did you use?" or something similar.   Warranty void as you didn't maintain them in accordance with their production test spec, which they'd never show you in the first place and probably calls up a bespoke charger.

the Energizer Ultimate Lithium-batteries are in now - and after 1 hour 10 mins of straight recording (24bit/48kHz), the battery indicator hasn't even moved yet...

The battery indicator never moves when you use lithiums until minutes before they go dead.

Ah, ok. Well, seems I get at least the full SD-card (8GB) of recording in 24bit/48kHz before the batteries die on me  Even more than that! I counted 10-12 hours of power on one set of batteries!

Glad to sort that out. I had crappy batteries...

I did 100+ shows with that unit and it is not battery friendly, and certainly not rechargeable battery friendly.  I think 3 hours is top for AAs and about 2 hrs for the rechargeables, so you are right on.  I hate rechargeables.

I think I could record 4+ hours with Energizer/Duracell quality batteries.
The 1 seconds file is no problem, its just 2 click to select and repair the file and you have it corrected. I read this forum before I bought my Edirol, so I was prepared if this happened

I routinely get 5 hours with a set of rechargables in my R09HR.  I ussually change at that point.  I never ran them till they were dead...

Buy a HQ charger that can refresh and break in your batts. Maha makes a BC-9000 that I use and LOVE IT. It will let you know if your batts are good and saveable or junk and toss them

I agree. I routinely get 7-8 hours on my Energizer rechargeables refreshed to optimum performance prior to the show.

Agreed. I favor the similar LaCosse BC-900 because it takes a lot fewer button presses to program.

And when you need new batteries, get low self discharge NiMhs like the Imedion 2400 mAh's. Not only do LSD NiMhs hold their charge a lot longer than regular NiMhs, but they also seem to last a lot longer before they need to be replaced. I just reconditioned my 5 year old 2000 mAh Eneloops and about 85% of them still have a capacity greater than 2000 mAh.

I just finished 5 gigs with using Duracell 2000ma  rechargable batteries  which  I got from B.J.'s wholesale ages ago  .The batteries are about 2 to 3 years old.All the recordings run about almost 3 hours.Like said it could run up to 5 hours which they did at times.



I usually  charge the batch the night before the gig.Then on the day of the gig I give them a booster charge hours before the show with my car AC inverter on the way to the show.I do the same with my  Nikon digital camera batteries too.


I just picked up a new batch of Duracells  a couple weeks ago with a charger at B.J.'s.

Digital brand batteries from Walmart were ok when new but they go bad when they get old quick.


Stay away  from  those fakes.
