I have the same stand - I mounted my PCM-M10 to it using a cheap handlebar camera mount from eBay. Pics of my setup as well as a link to the clamp here:

Once you fiddle with it a bit you can get it to clamp pretty tight. If you want something stronger, there are many great threads here on "serious" clamps.
FYI, the finish on the Ravelli stand scratches VERY easily. I would wrap it with tape where you plan to clamp anything. I learned this the hard way after finding the tensioning bolt that runs through the inside of this clamp scratched the paint pretty good. Also, plan to hotglue the feet to keep them from falling out, as many others have had to to according to reviews. These are minor annoyances though, and I feel like they are balanced out by the handy reversible stud and overall good value.
As far as battery box, I sit the heavies part (the battery) on top of the clamp and then velcro wrap in place.
