FWIW, I usually end up boosting the bass a little around 100Hz with both sets of Jon's mics that I use. If anything I'd say they're "flat" on that front. The omnis produce considerably less overwhelming bass than other small omnis I've used. I find these characteristics work well for taping of live rock shows, which is the only use I can speak to.
