I use the Naiant U-C Cardioid (Matched) Capsules > Naiant U-Series U-PP 3' Adaptor Cable > Sony PCM-M10 Recorder and absolutely LOVE the results.

They may be very different, but acidjack has sets of Naiant's X-X and X-R mics that I believe he's used pretty extensively in the field.  Perhaps reach out to him?

well got the mics Friday in the mail. ran them that night at the oriental theatre. listen to the recording sounds good, lil bassy. def will be doing some eq'ing. my mic stand got lowered half way through the show bc I guess my stand was a little in the way of the video stream ::)

anyways I cant wait to run these split at a few outdoor shows this year. mainly the reason why I got them, been wanting to run split omnis. also will try running them onstage split w/ 2 more mics in the middle. prob gonna do that this Thursday for JFJO and Mike Dillon Band

here is two recordings I did outside this weekend at daze on the green using the X-O. first notices right after the bat they are lil bass heavy and the hi end is a little low IMO. mids sound okay

it was pretty bass heavy at the festival especially for dumpstaphunk set they had an extra pair of woofers for there set so there was a lot of eq'ing

stir fried set was bass heavy too but not as bad as dumpstaphunk. eq'ing was applied aswell. lowered the low end and raised the hi end up for each recording

dumpstaphunk plays led zeppelin: https://archive.org/details/dumpstaphunk2014-04-19.fob.naiantx-o.kindrec

I fall in love with omnis every summer, when I get to use mine outside. There's just something about omni's outside that works for me.

I'm listening on headphones now and not getting enough bass. I'm sure at home with the sub woofer I'll hear it.

Good job Corey.

On headphones too (bass emphasized ones as well, DT 770) and seem to be missing most of the low end as well.  Besides that though they sound pretty nice, especially for the price.

Oh, sorry.  I meant to be speaking towards the EQ, not the mics specifically.  Cory mentioned he cut some bass.  On my playback it feels like a little too much (IMO).

Also, just an anecdote about Dumpstaphunk mixes, last time they were in town here the mix was terrible.  Waay too much bass and just muddy all around.  Not fun.  I can totally understand how the recording would need some EQ no matter what mics were used.

Dumpstaphunk has 2 bass players last time I saw them. I think the bass overkill in their mix is intentional.
