AT831 body + AT835 caps worth it?
« on: March 09, 2008, 04:14:41 PM »
For some strange reason, I've finished collecting some friend's stuff and now I've got a pair of AT831 that do work fine and a pair of AT835 which are not working properly (the body seems to be damaged)

Is it worth to put this AT853 card caps into the AT831 bodies? Some experience? How does it sound compared to AT831 or AT835 (assuming AT831 body+caps and AT835 body+cap)?

Thanks for the space.

I can say it definitely works, although is a tight fit. Personally, to my ears, I heard no difference in sound quality in running the two different bodies with the 853 caps.
You either record it or it's gone forever.

Hello:

The AT853 elements do indeed fit on the AT831 bodies...they look a little funny, but work fine. I can give you a link to the elements if you need it.
