Sony MZ-R70 > PC
« on: April 20, 2008, 08:27:08 PM »
I got a Sony MZ-R70 and I understand that this recorder only have an analog output.  Would it be possible to buy a different minidisc recorder/player with USB out and put my Master minidiscs (From the R70) into it and transfer them to PC that way?

Short answer: only the RH1/MZ200 does data transfer of legacy MD.
If you can't afford it, you have to pick up a bookshelf MD deck with optical-out and transfer in realtime. Make sure you have a bit-perfect soundcard in your PC though! Zoltrix Nightingale is a trustable old budget solution... Search the forum for more suggestions, many other consumer soundcards are not bit-perfect.
