Topic: Church-Audio mic recommendation please

I'm an old taper about to enter the digital age  & I need a little clarification/advice. I just pre-ordered an Edirol E-09HR & I want to get some Church-Audio mics. At their store, they list ca-11's & stc-11's & I'm unclear as to whether they both work with the Edirol. Cost is not a barrier, I just want the best setup possible. I will be doing mostly stealth recording, so that is a factor as well. Thanks in advance for your help folks.

The STC-11 Mics are my CA-11 mics I just did not change the add on ebay... If you want my best cardioid's then my CA-14 Is the best I make. If cost is no object there are lots of mics better then mine. But they will cost alot more. Its just a matter of how much you want to throw at your new hobby. It can get expensive.

I am sure that there are lots of opinions about my gear and about other gear from other vendors. Do some research ask questions. This is a great place for information about everything audio.

As Chris said, and to make clear, CA-11 = STC-11.  Just a new name versus an old name.  Same mics.

I've run my CA-11's straight mic in to the R-09 without problems, but mostly run them through the CA-9100 preamp and then line in to the R-09.  Very nice low profile set up and I've been very happy with my low profile recordings.  I actually have run the rig more in an open taping situation than low profile.  Hope that helps with the question you asked.

If cost is no barrier, go with the CA-14's. I believe Chris when he says they're better than the CA-11's. Also, there are samples to be found in the Gear Loaner section which sound real nice.

No they won't as far as I know. The CA-14 are housed/built within a permanent windscreen.

I have a pair of Church Mics (CA-11's) that I had sewn into a croakie. I have to say that the recordings always exceed my expectations. They are really a great deal.

Thanks for the advice folks , I think ca-14's with the st-9100 preamp will be my choice.

but you accidently made a mistake, both clips are on the same side and I think this is wrong...
Is there a safe and easy way to remove them and attach own clips to it?

They are soldered on with leadfree soldered on At 850 degrees if you have a problem I will fix them I dont know how they shipped like that. I am sorry about this. Send them back if you need to.

That would cost a lot of money for us both and also a long time.

So do you think I can remove one of them by using soldering bolt without harming the mic?
