Topic: CA-14 Mounts

Hey Guys
I just ordered some CA-14s from Mr. Church and currently have no tripods, T-mounts or anything to mount them on.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to what types of accessories will work with these mics?  I'm pretty new but these look like they may work (I'm not exactly sure):

I'm not entirely familiar with this type of equipment - I want to make sure the mics fit snug but I also don't want to have to force them into brackets, etc.  If anyone has any suggestions or links that I should consider, I would appreciate the input.  Also I know very little about the shock absorbers - so any insight there is greatly appreciated.

By the way - Chris has been extremely helpful and his customer service is top notch.  I can't wait to try the 14s - hopefully I'll have some samples to contribute to the community soon!

they should mount in some fashion to the SP T-mount.  I have a 12" and it is very versatile.

I would order them without clips and buy a set of removable ones.  If you get them with clips from CA, they will be permanently attached.  Yes, they will get in the way...

Bendy is the best one, IMHO.

Thanks for the heads up. Oh well, I have no idea how far along he is, I can't even really remember what I ordered now in relation to clips/no clips. I may have to fashion something custom then.

Can't hurt to contact Chris and tell him exactly what you want.  He is VERY accomidating.  When I ordered my set, I asked for the clips attached.  At a later date, I asked him to remove them and he did it no questions asked.

I'm dense, I'll admit it: Why have the Shure clips and the shock mounts when you could clip them to the t-bar directly? Are the clips *that* small? I guess a better question would be, how big is the clipping area? I remember on the old MM Card set that the clips were uber tiny. You could clip it to a T-Bar if you had something with grip on the bar. Are these comparable, bigger, smaller (clipping area)?
