Kinda the Beyerdynamic version of the AKG 390s  to the AKG 480s (vs MC930)  (does that make sense)

Pretty cheap, Chime in, does anyone run these or think they would work?

Wow, those seem cheap.  Probably even cheaper at a more competitive place, since the MC930 pair are listed at $1000.

Hmm.  It would be easy to "activate" these as well since they are electrets, and probably the FET is on the back of the capsule.

I guess the question is how good they sound.  Well, I'm not about to try now, as I'm searching for omnis at the moment.  But if anyone takes the plunge, please let us know...

Same basic question posed in http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,104623.0.html but not much info there either. No posts from someone who has run both. While curious, I'm not curious enough to buy a pair.

Not sure I understand this statement.  The capsules can't be removed from the body so I'm not sure why there would be any consideration of "activating" it...or are you thinking about hacking the mic body itself?

Yep, hacking the mic body.  I've done stranger things, lol...

Anyway, unlikely to happen soon since I'm currently looking at omni mics.  Next up, Countryman B3 lav.

hey so I was wondering if any one was running these too
in my thread here
http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,104623.0.html

I mean they are only 100mm
which is like 4 inches in length  and carbon reinforced plastic...
I bet they could be sweet

any experience
or comps that could be run with the mce 930's?

thanx in advance
