Kudos to Sound Pure and Peluso Microphones!
« on: July 08, 2008, 02:07:55 PM »
If you're looking to buy new mics and want awesome customer service, I just wanna toot the horn of Sound Pure (http://www.soundpure.com) and Peluso Microphones (http://www.pelusomicrophonelab.com). I bought the Peluso CEMC6 set two years ago from Sound Pure and was set to buy new shockmounts from Sound Pure a couple of weeks ago. The rep for Sound Pure(Doug Wessling) said that the shockmounts should last longer than two years and suggested that instead of buying a new pair, I should contact John Peluso and inquire about replacements. Considering the amount of use I've given the shockmounts (beyond what I would consider "average use" for sure), I would have bought the replacements with no hesitation...but one day last week I sent Peluso an e-mail and the next day I received a tracking notice and e-mail that they were on their way to me! Received them today!

I was over at Sound Pure today to see Doug Wessling to purchase a pair of the CEMC6 CK-21 caps. Well Sound Pure has almost completed their move into their new facility and it is awesome. It addition to mics and related accessories they now carry guitars and amps. They even have a cool studio space, primarily to demo equipment, but also ready to rented out as a recording studio. About the studio - they consulted with John Peluso who helped out on the design. How cool is that! If you live in the area, drop by and ask Doug or one of the other helpful staff to give you the full tour.

Now I can hardly wait to try out my new CK-21's at Alejandro EScovedo's show here next week.

No shit....Soundfield's shockmount for the 350 costs $650.  I doubt they'd send a new one for free.

+ 1 with SoundPure and Peluso.  I've gotten excellent service from SoundPure over the years, including straight talk about gear they don't even sell.  John Peluso has been very helpful and informative too.  I purchased a pair of Peluso P28 mics about 18 months ago (great mics).

Hmmm. I just moved to Asheville. Maybe I'll make a road trip some time.

+t in my next life. :P
The thing I love about being sober at a show, I remember where I put all my crap.
