Some of those threads are older, some are recent, some are short discussions, while others have a lot of discussion and are very informative (with great posts from John Willett, DStaz, and others...).  Those threads would certainly be a great starting point :)

edit to add:  Those topics are just the ones I found with a quick search.  I would be surprised if there weren't other discussion topics previously posted about the newer digital mics.

I have not used the 184-D

BUT

I have a pair of the 183-D and the new KA 131-D heads as well.

I have just had four CDs released, all recorded with the i83-Ds and did a write-up on it on the Sound On Sound forum HERE.

I like them a lot.
