i put one of the PDA lcd screen protectors that i had for my blackberry on my hd-p2. it doesn't provide a hard shell but is great for scratches and what not.  this is what i used.

Invisashield rocks... I have it on my phone.  If I got a 722 (or a new Microtracker for that matter) that would be the first stop.

Frosted "Scotch" tape works really well, too.  I have used this for years on my PalmPilot's writing surface to keep the screen from being scratched.  And, you can steal it from work!
