Which OS, version, and service packs?
Which version of EAC? (ver. v.0.99 PreBeta 4 is the latest) from here:
http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/en/index.phpEAC is a better ripper than Samplitude, but can be a speedbump in the workflow.
On a marginal CD, it is the best way to ensure high fidelity in the extraction of a waveform from a .cda file.
usage guide: (for those checking into the thread)
http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Exact_Audio_CopyCD programs use drivers to "see" the CD drives.
I haven't had to hassle with these since Windows98 and some old CD audio burner that had a
eagle GoldenHawk in it's company name. (no ticks!- perfect disc-at-once from
cuesheets(!) with
CDRWIN...old school, however, amazing in the day)
Adaptec ASPI drivers live here:
http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/support/but it would be strange to need these with WinXP... what brand and type of CD drive?
Since WindowsXP, my CD is almost always recognized, or a reboot fixes it.
Do other programs, such as WinAMP, Windows Media Player, Foobar, etc., "see" and play your CD?
or only Samplitude?
