Edirol R-09HR & hard limiting

I've ran into a problem with a show I recorded. On my Edirol R-09HR  it has a switch on the back to turn off limiting & AGC, so I turned it off. I've been using WaveLab today & I learned that my recording has some kind of compression applied to it. If I turn on my device & go to input settings theres a place that says limiter/AGC. You can toggle it back in forth from limiter to AGC, but there is no option in that part of the menu to simply turn it off. I didn't really want to use either, but I left it on "limiter". I figured since I switched it off on the back that it wouldn't use that feature. I was standing really close to the PA that night, about 10 ft. 'er so away. Did my device use the limiter anyways, since it was so loud? If anyone out there has experience with this device or the previous Edirol-R09 & could explain what happened, I would really appreciate it. did you use mic or line in... or the built in mics?

Sorry, not sure, I always use LINE IN and have no issues with compression

Check the R09HR thread, I believe that so long as the switches at the back are off there is no compression.

Interesting... I guess maybe I was just standing to close to the PA, which was EXTREMELY loud. If there is another thread for the Edirol-HR that I missed, please post a link here. Thanks:)
