HD-P2 buttons fried?
« on: October 23, 2008, 04:00:59 PM »
I recently got a Busman mod. HD-P2 from a friend.  I purchased an external battery and was trying to see how long it would last running mics.  The plug for the external battery comes out rather easily and I knocked it out while the thing was recording.  The unit loses power and I turn it back on.  Now none of the buttons, except for the power button, are working.  When I go to power it down, I have to hard power it down and it doesn't ask me to hit select, like normal.  Anyone ever heard of such a thing?

I should also mention, that I upgraded to the latest firmware right before that, but I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it.

I'm only guessing since I don't have my P2 anymore but, is the hold button off?  And if you have batteries in it take them out and try it.  Dead batteries will lock that sucka right up.

I came very close to getting my P2 modded but opted for 4 track instead.  You're gonna love the P2, just don't clip it, it does not like that 8)
