both i found are not 100% accurate for example i just put in 75 minutes and got 2 different answers for the vbr suggestions
The http://dvd-hq.info/bitrate_calculator.php site doesn't use the maximum space on the disc. It usually leaves about 100 - 150 megabytes of free space. I assume they do this to leave room for a menu.
That being said, you could always increase the average bitrate that is provided by a bit if you want to use 100% of the space on the disk.

i am just pointing it out to people who may be new to dvds so they are aware it not perfect
like someone else said, i usually go slightly lower to play it safe
