i have used this one and the one at http://www.videohelp.com/calc.htm and both i found are not 100% accurate for example i just put in 75 minutes and got 2 different answers for the vbr suggestions
imo the minimum vrb suggestions they give are way to low too, i would never go under 6000, they suggest 2600

That is the one I use also. Works fine for me so far. Just remember it is estimated so I personally always aim a little lower than the result and it works wonders.

The http://dvd-hq.info/bitrate_calculator.php site doesn't use the maximum space on the disc. It usually leaves about 100 - 150 megabytes of free space. I assume they do this to leave room for a menu.

That being said, you could always increase the average bitrate that is provided by a bit if you want to use 100% of the space on the disk.

I just plugged in 75 minutes (actually 1 hr and 15 minutes) and with LPCM audio (1,536) it recommends 6560 for the video.
