How hard can they make it to find a download link? I can't find one after 15 minutes of Googling.

Try korg.co.jp specifically http://www.korg-datastorage.jp/Software/AudioGate/AudioGate_v2.0.0_J.zip

Don't know if menus will be in engrish or japanese - on one page google translated there is a mention it is only for users in Japan. Use at your own risk. Couldn't find any other download links.

New software just as they are remaindering the MR-1, wonder if anything new is coming along.

What are the new players that will play DSD disks?  Both 2.6 and 5.2 resolution?

I installed it.  Not an earth shattering difference.  I was hoping Export would be quicker, doesn't seem to be.  Observations:

Pros:
- it has a new "normalize" feature, so when you export to PCM it will set the gain to that ONE highest peak...  This is quicker than exporting it, seeing how much gain you need in Audacity, then exporting a second time...
- some new dither options on export... supposedly better, but I haven't done an A/B test.
- Some other features that I don't care about.  Ability to read a DSD disk... so I guess you can rip an SACD?

Cons:
- It asks me to connect the MR-1 to "authorize" the software every time I launch the software.  Pain in the butt.  The old version asked me to do this once.

I'll probably go back to the old version... I don't want to connect the MR1 all the time.

Yep, I just realized this happens to me as well. It's unbelieveable that they didn't catch this & fix it.

If it's worth getting off the couch, it's worth taping!

I just downloaded it, installed it with the M1 attached and launched Audiogate, then quit it and removed the M1, and Audiogate launched again without any problem without the M1.

Doesn't work for me. Have to attach MR-1 every time!

Guess it's not a big deal. I doubt if I'll ever use the software w/o the recorder to attached to upload files to the computer.

Would someone be willing to create and send me a DSD disc to try in my DVD player? Or does someone know where there is a list of players known to play DSD discs?

Perhaps someone could create a DSD disc image using only one or two tracks, so the file size is small enough that the disc image could be uploaded somewhere for people to burn and try playing.

The Wikipedia says: "Some professional audio recorders can record in DSD format. Transferring this signal to a recordable DVD disc with the appropriate tools will render a DSD Disc. Such discs can be played on certain PCs (this may require a DSD plug-in) and on PlayStation 3. Moreover, Sony has released a new SACD-player (autumn 2008), the SCD-XA5400ES, which supports the DSD-disc format. Only so-called DSF format is supported. DSF is a stereo-only, simplified form of DFF, the format used for SACD mastering and 5.1-channel downloads."

One Sony player is hardly a list of players; it runs $1500 list price, other than a used one on Amazon for $995 I don't see any discounting.

Gotcha. Didn't realize that the ability to play the DSD Discs was so new. I figured most SACD players would work, but that appears not to be the case.
