Hello all. I got my Church Audio CA-14 mics today.
Please forgive the newbie questions, but I would rather be safe than sorry...

1. Can the CA-14's be used without the battery box in the "mic in" of the Edirol R-09?
2. If used with the battery box, do they go in the "line in" of the Edirol R-09?
3. What kind of cable goes from the "out" of the battery box to the Edirol R-09?

1- No you must use a battery box if you want to record loud shows if they are quiet you "might" be able to get away with it.

2- Line in or mic in depending on how much gain you need ( make sure to turn off the plug in power  on the r09)

I can sell you a cable for $20 + $3.00 shipping or you can go to radio shack and spend $10 you need a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm stereo cable that is shielded.

The R-09 (unlike the HR) provides is rated to 5 volts plug in power. I was under the impression that you have posted that your CA-14's perform optimally with a minimum of 5 volts plug in power.

Am I mistaken or does the R-09 fail to provide the 5 volts it is supposed to.

I am curious since I have both an R-09 (Micsketeer mod!) and a C-14 cardiod mic, but I have always used a battery box or preamp to be cautious.

The r09 provides 3.8 volts not 5v The mod I did to your r09 uses a 2.3k resistor and not a 4.7k. That is how I get around the lower voltage.
