I read through some old posts on the sps-200 and decided to buy one. Now they have a new version with a shorter body and a nifty looking wind screen frame-shock mount and two types of covers.
Would you please share your thoughts?

My thoughts are if you can afford it and have uses for it then buy it for sure. The Soundfield mics are the best for what they do especially for film and TV location work. As far as the short bodies go, I am sure it cuts down on the "ruggedness" of the setup. These guys make such good gear, I don't think that will matter. You'll probably store it in nice cases anyway. I say go for it!

All I can say is... wow.  That looks great, as you said, for boom work.  Lots of stuff could be corrected in post by aiming (and tightening) the pattern.  Would love to play with that...  Someone else probably said this, but it looks like this thing uses MBHO capsules.
