phasing problems
« on: November 08, 2009, 09:42:31 AM »
Last week I stealth-taped a show where I had the feeling that the stereo image was pretty much constantly shifting. It was a club show, so wind was not an issue. I could hear it during the show, so the problem was not me moving my head. There were some people in front of me moving around and dancing, but I think most of time the mics in my hat (MBHO cards btw) were above them.

At times it's so annoying I can hardly listen to the recording.

Any thoughts?

May have been the people in front of you that were moving? Perhaps the mics were not high enough.

I pulled a recording like that once. I enjoyed listening to it much more when I made a mono version to listen to (just duplicated one of the channels with my editing software).

Nice.
I am glad you said this.
I have done this with other peoples pulls with phasing problems.
Be it stealth or outdoor open.
