... and I've also tested the revised auto start facility. Hitherto, if you set an autostart recording to auto stop, it wouldn't start again. Now it starts and stops continuously in the presence or absence of audio above/below the level you set. That too is a gapless split, in the sense that if you feed the H2 from a CD player, if you pause the CD then unpause it, causing the H2 to stop then start again, there's nothing lost at the start point, as it actually includes a tiny bit from just before the point where you unpaused the CD. I'm not sure how useful the facility would be for musical purposes, but it would certainly be handy for applications like monitoring your home when you're out, recording any noises that happened.
