Digi noise on jb3 recording
« on: December 15, 2009, 03:09:38 AM »
Every once in a while my jb3 has digi noise while playing on the recorder, but the recording doesn't seem to have it on the computer after transferring, could this mean i just need to defrag the jb3 hdd or I am just not noticing it on the computer.

anyone else experience this?

I will try and upload a sample of what i mean after my finals are over on thursday...

One more reason i am going to switch to a sd 744t some time in the new year...

how are you listening back to the recording on the JB3? If the digi noise isn't detectable after transferring to the CPU, then I suspect there's something causing it when played via the JB3. it also means there's nothing wrong with the file. My guess is either a faulty headphone cable or mini jack to attach the JB3 to the home stereo.

I would defrag your hd every time after you transfer your music for clean non digi noise. Then if you still have the same problem get a new cable ;) Also if you have those right adapters on your optical cable remove and get one w/ built in or straight.

Try a "Clean Up" from Rescue Mode...

Possible fraggy drive hopping all over itself to play a track.

Also possible the drive is starting to fail. (but I'd think you'd have other troubles if that was it)

And make sure your cell phone or other RF device is not in the same neighboorhood as the JB3.
