On stage, multi mics
« on: April 06, 2010, 05:36:39 PM »
I want to try to make a very good onstage tape with what I have. This is my rough plan.

Without worrying about the PA mix

1 Channel (monitor return... Vocals)

I have 2 AT 853Cs  DFC (on stage) XY or split em

Kick drum mic

Somehow come up with 2 overheads for the drums

I pretty much would have to mix on the fly with a separate board, is there rough ratios to stick 2.

so your thinking of doing this plus pulling the house mix from the sbd?

you just running your 61a's through a batt box? if you are running with what you have maybe throw a 61a (omni) up above the drum kit. run your 853's xy on stage wherever it sounds good making sure you are not sticking them in front of a half deaf guitar player whos just screaming on stage (setup opposite side of him if so). then grab your vocal mix and see what happens i guess.. im always interested in seeing how things turn out so make sure to let us know!
