"Anyway, actually you can just float the source pin and it works fine. You will need to isolate the capsule case from ground though. That saves you the trouble of cutting the trace and soldering the ground wire to that weensy tab. So you go signal wire to drain pin, resistor to source pin, ground wire to the other side of the resistor. Insulate with some heatshrink, stick in whatever chassis you like, connect ground wire to chassis."

Is there a simple diagram anywhere for this? I do a little better visually, still trying to catch up on terminology... I try to use the search function, but everything just takes you to the Linkwitz page eventually...
Once I do this I can just run the mics to a "standard" 9V battery box and in to recorder right?
