Topic: minor distortion on vocals & drums snare hits on a soundboard recording

taped a band last night and the sound came off the board hot i think, cause i had my gain set low enough it shouldnt have distorted at all. also taped another show of the same band last week and the same thing happened. thinking maybe these guys just crank everything to 11?

the guitars and bass are a bit quiet in the mix but the snare and sometimes the vocals crackle a bit. is there anything that can be down about this?

i've heard often that this is hard to impossible to remedy, but being that only the drums and vox are distored maybe there is?

i also ran audience audio and planned on muxing them together. listened to the audience audio and it doesn't stand up well enough on its on. pretty poor sounding room.
